VANCOUVER, BC – 25 October 2011 – Smythe Ratcliffe LLP today announced the appointment of Ron Hooge (BSc, CA, CBV) as director of valuation services, to head the newly created valuations firm, Smythe Ratcliffe Valuations Inc. The new Vancouver-based valuations and advisory firm specializes in business valuations, economic loss calculations, litigation and mergers & acquisitions services. The Firm provides professional services to lawyers, business owners, expropriating authorities and accounting firms. In addition to providing valuation services, Smythe Ratcliffe LLP continues to provide its core offering of accounting, tax and business advisory services.

A veteran Chartered Accountant and Chartered Business Valuator, Ron comes to us from Berris Mangan Valuations, where he led the firm as director of valuation services. Previously, Ron was Vice President in the Business Modeling group at Ernst & Young. With over 24 years of experience, Ron specializes in business valuations and litigation support. He has appeared as an expert witness before the Supreme Court of BC, Queen’s Bench of Alberta and the Expropriation Compensation Board of BC.
